JACKIE LEE

Heavy soul from Jackie Lee -- one of the most hard-grooving singers to record on the west coast scene in the 60s! The package pulls together all of Lee's legendary sides for the Mirwood label -- the classic Northern Soul album The Duck, and lots of equally great singles that have the smooth-toned vocalist working at a very uptempo clip! The package is the first to really do justice to all of this music -- and it features a whopping 28 tracks all presented with wonderful sound quality, which really blows away any previous reissue -- especially considering that there's some unissued material here too. And as always with Kent, the notes are as great as the track selection -- 16 pages that tell the full story of Jackie's burning career at the time, complete with vintage photos and images. Titles include "Do You Love Me", "The Bounce", "The Duck (part 2)", "Hully Gully", "Do The Temptation Walk", "Land Of 1000 Dances", "A Man Ain't Nothin", "Oh My Darlin", "Try My Method", "Treat Her Right", "Tin Pan Alley", "Dancing In The Street", "Everybody Jerk", "Harlem Shuffle", and "Whether It's Right Or Wrong".
