Beau Brummell: Dedicated Follower of Fashion



George Bryan "Beau" Brummell (1778-1840) was a fastidious dresser who popularized the "Dandy" look. He is often credited as the father of the modern-day suit. According to The Times Online, he is "the most important figure in British fashion history."

He was once quoted as saying, "I have no talents other than to dress; my genius is in the wearing of clothes."
